Maryam is a PhD candidate working on understanding the role of inclusive cultural policy and urban regeneration in increasing the quality-of-life through cultural and creative activities at the local and neighbourhood-scale levels. She holds a master's degree (MSc) in Restoration and Revitalisation of Historic Buildings and Cities, Conservation of Architectural Heritage from the University of Tehran, Iran. Her research interests involves cultural and creative industries and creative economy and how local authorities could employ cultural practices to stimulate cities' economic growth. She also looks into inclusive culture-led regeneration strategies and their role in the wider aims of decreasing spatial inequality and social exclusion. In addition, She is expanding her knowledge of spatial analysis and interdisciplinary fields such as creative tourism, walkability and human mobility, environmental amenities, and sustainability.
